Fenugreek Hair Wash Powder

Botanical Name: Trigonella foenum graecum

Fenugreek is a plant. The seeds are used to make the hair wash.

Fenugreek Powder or Methi is widely used in Indian cooking to add a distinct flavour in various dishes.

The health benefits of this green-leafed plant are numerous including controlling diabetes, reducing cholesterol levels, and aiding digestion. However,it also comes in handy as a beauty tool.

Fenugreek Powder can be used for everyday hair and skin problems and is very cost effective.

The benefits for hair and skin is because it contains a compound with estrogen-like properties called diosgenin. It is also rich in proteins, vitamin C, iron, fibre, etc.

Create a thick paste by mixing a small amount of Fenugreek Powder with water. Gently massage the paste into the scalp and hair using your fingertips. Wait a few hours and rinse thoroughly with a mild shampoo such as Shikakai Hair Wash Powder.

Another variation to this paste is to heat mustard oil with a few leaves of henna in it. Then strain it. Once it cools down, add the Fenugreek paste to the oil and apply on the scalp. Keep it for half-an-hour before washing your hair.
