Determine Your Skin Type and Start Your Essential Oil Skin Care Collection

Before you set out a specific skin care regimen, it is important to know what skin type you are. It is very difficult as most people have at least two distinct facial skin types. On top of that, it always different from the skin that covers the rest of your body.

So to help simplify, I have broken it down for you:

Dry Skin:

Dry skin is caused by under- or inactive oil glands that do not produce enough sebum to keep the skin naturally lubricated. It has a dull appearance, feels itchy, flaky, scaly, taut and often very sensitive. It is beneficial to use rich formulas containing a balanced combination of oils and water to soothe and hydrate.

Oily Skin:

In oily skin, the glands produce excess oil, resulting in a greasy, slippery and shiny texture accompanied by large clogged pores. It is always prone to develop acne, a condition resulting from sebum trapped inside the skin. It is beneficial to use aromatic steam treatments and clay masks.

Normal Skin:

In normal skin, oil glands produce sebum at a moderate normal rate, resulting in a balanced state. It looks vibrant, moist and plump but still requires attention. It is beneficial to use a regular cleanser, toner and moisturizer as a daily regimen.

Sensitive Skin:

Sensitive skin can be a combination of dry, oily and normal any time. It frequently reacts adversely to environmental conditions, cosmetics containing alcohol, synthetically manufactured fixed oil type ingredients, fragrance oils, perfumes and artificial colours. It requires special attention . It is beneficial to use natural, gentle, handmade skin-care products and treatments.

Now that we have a handle on what skin type you are, we can now embark on the adventure of creating your own skin-care products. The best part of this journey is that you don't have to wait to collect all the essential oils in the aromatic skin care collection. You can begin an effective skin care routine by purchasing just a few oils, and you can keep adding to your collection over time. Here are some of my recommendations based on various skin types.
