Description: Cape Snowbush is a small evergreen shrub with dark green needle-like leaves native to the western cape of Africa. Although it is often called African rosemary, it is not related to the common Mediterranean type. In spring the plant is covered in small white flowers making it appear as though it is covered in snow hence its name.

Color: Pale yellow to dark yellow clear liquid.

Uses: Essential oils such as Cape Snowbush Oil have been used to improve memory, relieve muscle pain and tension headaches. Its chemical constituents provide the basis of its use as a nerve stimulant, antioxidant and antibacterial agent. Aromatherapists have used Cape snowbush as an anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic, decongestant, diuretic and stomachic, to ease sore muscles fight colds, coughs, and flu, and treat insomnia.

History: In the spring, the plant is covered in small white flowers, thus the name Snowbush. Historically, the earliest documented record of its use was in 1667 when the leaves and twigs of the Cape Snowbush plant, which look similar to rosemary, were distilled. The liquid has long been used as a hair tonic and to treat dandruff.
