Ipomoea digitata is a wide-spread, paleotropic, perennial herb belonging to the family Convolvulaceae. It is commonly known as wild yam or Vidari Kanda in Telugu. The tuberous roots are used as tonic, aphrodisiac, cholagogue, demulcent, diuretic, emmenagogue, galactogogue and rejuvenant.
