Description: Litsea Cubeba is native to Asia. It’s a small tree with pepper-like bearing fruits where most of the essential oil comes from. The oil produced from this plant has similar properties to lemongrass, Melissa and other oils that are rich in citral.

Common Uses: Also known as May Chang, Litsea Cubeba essential oil is most valued for its anti-depressant, astringent, carminative, insecticidal, cordial, hypotensive, stimulant and tonic properties. It’s also reputed to be uplifting and stimulating. It is great to incorporate in soaps, toners or astringent to help prevent acne and can also be used for repelling insects. Perfect to use in diffusers to lighten and energize the air.

Litsea Cubeba oil is also used in inhalers to help assist people with asthma or bronchitis as it relaxes the bronchial tubes that will allow a proper breathing.
