Rose Damask (India) Absolute
This rose is one of the worlds best known flowers - stunning and exotic in both visual appearance and aroma. It is a deciduous shrub growing to 2.2 m tall, the stems densely armed with stout, curved prickles and stiff bristles. The leaves are pinnate, with five (rarely seven) leaflets. They are renowned for their fine fragrance, and their flowers are naturally harvested for rose oil used in perfumery.
Rose Damask is one of the most sought after rose oils in the world. It is a used extensively in the cosmetic and perfumery industry. Aromatherapists credit it with being an exotic aphrodisiac which helps in soothing & harmonizing the mind as well as helps in overcoming anger, depression, grief, nervous tension, fear and other ailments. It has been proven to encourage tissue formation and accelerate skin regeneration and hence it is widely used as an emollient in skin care products.

They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - becomes lost.
